Fathia Balgahoom - Experienced Special Needs Educator

Fathia Balgahoom is an educator currently pursuing a master’s degree in Special Education and Inclusive Practices at Rowan University Global. Professionally, Fathia Balgahoom has gained experience in education through various roles.

As a high school teacher, Fathia Balgahoom has been involved in integrating culturally relevant pedagogy and creating individualized materials to meet the needs of students with disabilities. Beyond her teaching responsibilities, she has participated in initiatives like the Bridgemen Believe Mentor Program, working closely with students to meet their academic, social, and emotional needs.

From 2020 to 2022, she worked as an assistant teacher at AppleTree Preschool. In this role, she developed and implemented lesson plans following the curriculum while creating a safe and stimulating learning environment for the children.

She is also dual-certified as a social studies and special education educator, a testament to her versatility and commitment to fostering equity in the classroom. Additionally, she has contributed to the academic community through her publications.

Beyond her professional and academic pursuits, Ms. Balgahoom is connected to her heritage and personal growth. She has been studying the Indonesian language through classes offered by the Republic of Indonesia Embassy in the United States, reconnecting with her cultural roots.
